Since 2018 I have been doing an arts-based PhD exploring personal and collaborative songwriting.
The context of the project is concerned with experiences of living with environmental and social insecurity (often influenced by climate change or anthropogenic impact on the environment). I have a specific interest and focus on water, which I view as a heritage continually being inherited and passed on to future generations.
I have been working in Cape Town in South Africa, a climate change hotspot, which I visited during the height of the Day Zero crisis in March 2018 and again in March 2019, and I will be in Cape Town again from October to December 2019.
